White-capped Dipper Cinclus leucocephalus leuconotus Papallacta, Napo province, Ecuador. It's amazing how these seemingly fearless little birds risk their lives in the rushing torrents. This one was clinging to the side of a boulder in between two plumes of spraying water. (D3)

White-capped Dipper Cinclus leucocephalus leuconotus Guango lodge, Napo province, Ecuador. This is a different individual than the previous shot with a lot more black streaking in the crown. It could be a younger bird. (D3)

Rufous-throated Dipper Cinclus schulzi Rio Sosa, Tucuman province, Argentina. The rarest of the world's dippers, replacing the previous species in a limited area of the Andes in southern Bolivia and northern Argentina. I've included a few different shots of the same bird. (D3)
