Solitary Eagle Harpyhaliaetus solitarius solitarius Manu road between Pillahuata and San Pedro, Cusco department, Peru. This photo was taken out the car window with a point-and-shoot camera! The Manu road is the best place I know of to see this scarce eagle. (P1)

Amazingly, six years after I took the previous photo, I found another juvenile in almost exactly the same spot as before. Obviously there is a very successful pair living around there. This time I had much better camera gear and was able to get a nice flight shot. (S5)
