LIMPKIN   -   ARAMIDAE

Limpkin Aramus guarauna guarauna Transpantanal Highway, Mato Grosso state, Brazil. A decidedly odd bird of neotropical marshes (it also reaches South Florida). The only member of the family Aramidae, it't closest relatives are apparently the cranes.
